A Fence of Security

What is a security fence? Depending upon who you are talking to, a security fence could be a 4-foot black chain link fence with the sole purpose of keeping your dog within its perimeter. It could mean you have a sense of security knowing you have a 7-foot cedar fence in your backyard. It could mean something as simple as a double wired fence to assist with keeping dear out of the family garden. If you are trying to prevent trespassers from entering your property maybe your solution is barb to barb chain link. If you own a commercial property, you might want an 8-gauge chain link with barb wire so you can better prevent theft to your company fleet or merchandise.

We received two separate service calls this week. One was for a Home Depot location and the other for a small commercial property in NE Salem. Both had experienced someone trespassing on their property. One location was the victim of theft. Both companies lost a sense of security this week.

Here at HB Fence, we are very compassionate and understanding when events like these occur. Last summer a customer from Lake Oswego called, she, was upset. Karrie and her husband live in an Incredibly beautiful neighborhood and safe community right on the Columbia River. Her back yard brushed with beautiful greens neighboring railroad tracks. Karrie was out back one morning watering plants and stepped into her house for a minute. An hour or so later, she was getting ready to leave and could not find her purse. Her granddaughter said, “grandma check your cameras,” so, she checked her security cameras. She discovered someone had tiptoed into her home while she had taken the brief break from watering. After reviewing the cameras, she noticed the thief had been walking along the railroad tracks and entered through the bushes. Thankfully, they never crossed paths while he was in her home.

Karrie lost her sense of security that morning. There may be times when closing off your property does not sound very inviting or the idea of it does not have the outdoor appeal you were hoping for, but there are always avenues for securing your landscape and still having a very classy and secured look to your home or commercial property. Karrie decided to have green chain link installed. She wanted to gain the security she had lost that morning without obstructing the woodsy feel of her beautiful backyard.

Coated Decking Screws

At HB Fence, Decking & Construction, we use coated decking screws on every wooden project. If your fence will be planked with an untreated wood such as cedar or redwood; the zinc coating on the screws helps prevent your fence from rusting and staining or discoloring fence planks.

Coated decking screws will look much better in the end especially if left with a natural, unfinished look. The screws resist loosening up during windstorms. Nails will get looser as time goes on and can deteriorate and bleed on the wood.

Why you Should Hire a HandyMan

A handyman can perform several household needs. HB is a Licensed Oregon Contractor (CCB# 218350) experienced in performing almost any job. Why we choose to stay small. We have found over the years our customers have real time needs. Not everything in life is planned and sometimes not even budgeted for; If that were the case there wouldn’t be a need for a Handyman. Ask yourself “what’s the need for a tow truck driver if you could foresee your car’s repairs or future accidents”.

Several homeowners develop excellent relationships with their handyman. The chances of a homeowner or property manager experiencing minor repairs over the years is more common than a larger kitchen remodel or dreamy outdoor project.

We guarantee quality, timely and a finished product, with quality touches from a Licensed Contractor at a Handyman’s rate. It’s the best of both worlds. Listed below are some of the common jobs you may want to hire a Handyman for.
