Retaining Wall for Your Fence

There were a lot of things about this job I found unique and special. One, I love the retaining wall. It not only gives the fence more height and allows the homeowner more privacy, it also acts as a barrier for the higher elevation of dirt that lives on the other side and adds some character to the homeowner’s fence.
What I also found very enjoyable about this job was the homeowner Ron. Ron was out there with us everyday rain or shine. Ron is 76 years old and was a coach for many many years. Ron seems like the kind of coach that really cared and left a positive impression on his students lives. I know he has really made one on ours. I remember while working at Ron’s house the night before Thanksgiving, he told us, “now I don’t want you guys thinking about me at all tomorrow.” I woke up Thanksgiving morning and who sent us a Happy Thanksgiving message…. Ron, lol! I really enjoyed how he would share stories with us and how excited he was for his snowbird trip to Hemet California. He seemed very impressed with our daughter and her ability to use tools and work hard everyday alongside her father. Thank you for all your help last week Ron. Thank you for making our week of Thanksgiving an enjoyable one.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It was a pleasure getting to know you!!

The lattice design

The lattice design adds a polished look to your fence. Options for a lattice-topped fence are endless. You can custom design a vertical, horizontal or a traditional sloping pattern. A decorative lattice pattern will also extend the height of your fence. Adding post caps, trellis or other decorative tops will give your fence a unique touch, and your backyard an attractive look.

Protecting Your Fence from Windstorms

Windstorms can be strong enough to knock down fences, leading to difficult and costly repairs. If a storm is on its way, learn how to protect your fence from wind damage.
Inspecting Your Fence
Inspect your fence for any loose posts, boards, or panels and repair if necessary. Fences tend to have a lot of rot near the baseline of the posts. Old fences are most vulnerable to high windstorms. Remove and reinstall any posts that appear loose in the ground. Fix loose or damaged fence boards or vinyl fence sections as they can break off during high wind gust.
Lock the Gate
If your area has been issued a storm warning, use a good lock on your gate to secure it into place. High winds will start to slam against the fence and can cause serious damage to your fence or even your home.
